  Large clean room. Comfy bed. New clean bathroom.
  
  Poor blackout curtains (they don't extend past the edge of the windows so Sun came directly through in morning).
  
  Poor sound proofing in room door - we could hear neighbours TV early in the morning.
  
  Bit of a rabbit warren - could be hard to find way out in a fire (although they have all the legal fire exit signs). I'd like to see floor exit lighting.

  4.5 stars. Reception was quick and efficient providing us with access cards for both the lifts and our room. The room itself, while not spacious, was immaculately clean. There was no view to speak of, and the bathroom, though small was very modern and again, very clean. All the usual extras were available- tea, coffee, etc. In terms of location this hotel was great- just minutes by foot to many popular spots - Block Arcade, Australia Arcade, Bourke St. Mall, Emporium and many popular restaurants as well. Overall, would highly recommend.

  For what is said to be the oldest hotel in 'Melbourne I felt there was not much of a feeling of that or the atmosphere I have experienced from many hotels. Staff when we dealt with them helpful and pleasant but I have seen more welcoming foyers in most hotels I have stayed in . But its location within the city very good and that why we chose it. Close to train station and trams.

  Fabulous location for all Melbourne attractions. Refurbished rooms. Super friendly Staff that help woth everything. Good value dining. Place to stay in heart of Melbourne.

  Awesome location, and reception were friendly and efficient. Bedding was nice and clean. Hotel itself is a bit sad. Aging paint, stained carpet, pigeon poo streaked windows. Price was pretty ok, but you could certainly find a nicer place to stay.
