They refuse to tell you over the phone if your results have yielded a result that requires you to come back in or not.
I understand of course that if your results are not 100% positive that you should come back in, but to insist that you return to get your results when they are positive is a pure money grab.
I have been to many practices before that will have a nurse tell you over the phone your results if they are positive.
edit* having called the office of Australian information commissioner I have also discovered that it is illegal to refuse any medical records including pathology results to patients and that a booking is not necessary if that's not what you want. So if you are in my situation, please know your rights.
I certainly wont be coming back to this practice.
